When I was younger I believed that highlights were tacky because people would wear them year round and they got dull and no longer interesting. So I swore them off forever. The problem is that I now understand that highlights need to be a season thing and more importantly, only to be worn in the season of warm weather. The idea with these lightening of the hair techniques is that it is actually the sun that is lightening your hair not some chemicals (as if anyone has enough time to lay out to get nature highlights) so as long as you are wearing your highlights during the spring and summer they will look great and add some softness to your face that wasn't there in the harsh winter months. So don't swear off highlights instead welcome them into your new summer look!
