Yves Saint Laurent Asymmetry

I can't believe that I have forgotten to mention this until now, but how stunning was Kate Winslet at the Oscars in that Yves Saint Laurent (God rest his soul) dress?! I mean the colors, the lines, and the sheer beauty of that dress were just amazing. It was a daring design, but not too daring that it couldn't be considered popular fashion, it just pushed the envelope enough that everyone in the public had to take in some air and gasp a little bit. I know that Mr. Laurent saw this dress and was pleased with the way the leading lady looked in his design. I am sure that he was smiling from his lofty pillow in heaven...

Classy Shamrocks Shirt for St. Patrick's Day

Typically you will see St. Patrick's Day shirts (that is all anyone has for that day) that are just rude (kiss my arse or something like that), perverse (wanna get lucky?), or encouraging binge drinking (I love drunk people). That is why I encourage people to break out of the classic St. Patrick's Day mold of these styles and try something a bit classier. Look at this ladies polo shirt with three classy shamrocks on it. It is still festive, but doesn't have all the drunken idiocy of other St. Patrick's Day t-shirts. See below for a classy option this St. Patrick's Day.

Recession means Fashion Week suffers

Like anything that resides in the luxury goods realm, NY Fashion Week, the seminal fashion event of the year, is suffering thanks to the global down turn in the economy. I can't say I didn't see this coming because anyone with two ears and a brain between them could see this coming. But what is shocking to me is the lack of reaction from the Fashion Week crowd. They seem to be going on like business is usual while small time designers (the back bone of the industry and creativity) are falling all around them. I think if the organizers of the event wanted to do it right this year they should have made it easier on struggling designers that need the attention to get into the show and not pay all the fees. Not only would this help fashion overall it would promote the idea of goodwill in the industry and show that fashion has a heart and doesn't eat its young like it looks now. Come on fashion week, it's time to get serious about helping others.

Delias Dresses

I really love the print dresses that Delias has been doing lately. They are inexpensive, well cut and look really good! Check out this one dress below. I know that it is a little cold for a summer dress like this but one can still dream that there will be more warmer days and we will be able to have dresses like these!

FUN - SF Pillow Fight

Now this looks like a fun way to celebrate Valentine's Day - A Pillow fight! Apparently the young people in San Francisco have a pillow fight downtown every Valentine's Day. The rules are simple, just have fun and don't try to hurt anyone. I wish I was there for something like this I think it would have been a lot of fun to top off the day. check out the amazing picture below.

A very nice Valentine's

I actually had a very nice Valentine's Day with my family this year. Nope, there was no date, no dinner and of course no presents but at least I was around people that I loved. We all had a nice dinner and talked about our lives. My dad told a stupid story that everyone laughed at the for the wrong reason and it was generally just nice. It was like having thanksgiving all over again in February. It is nice to know that even though I am not loved like that, that I am still loved like this. Happy Sunday everyone!

Picture This: Your Save the Date Postcards

I love finding neat little things for weddings like the wedding stamps I was talking about earlier or fun little gifts your can give out as wedding favors (this is quickly becoming the norm especially with smaller size weddings). One thing that I just found is put-your-picture-on-it save the date postcards. Save the dates have been around for a long time, but I really love the idea of having your own photo and text on it with a cool design. This is one of the really classy designs I was able to find just doing a quick search. It's super personal and when your friends and family get it they are sure to have the "awwww so cute!" reaction. See below to understand what I am talking about.

Great Trenchcoat Weather

I don't know if it is raining near you, but it is for sure raining and snowing around me. It's the worst kind because it is a mix of both and it makes it hard to choose a jacket to wear out. That is why I am loving the resurgence of the classic trench coat. I have always been a fan of Holly Golightly and I think that any coat she wears is worth coming back into style at some point. The trenchcoat is also perfect for lots of weather situations, from window to snow and it looks classic in all. I think it is a MUST for all ladies' closests.

Get Creative with Furniture - Bookshelf edition

I think that everyone should just have fun in the life they lead and I really believe that the furniture that they surround themselves with should reflect that. I know it is soooooo easyyyy to slip into the boring idea of Ikea and Target furniture and just not think about it, but where is the fun in that? When you walk into your house/apartment what will make it unique from everyone else's? Nothing that's what, you will just be another production line home in a production line life. So I know that you don't want that and that is why I am here to challenge you with great creative ideas like cool interesting bookshelves! :)

Check out these bookshelf designs below that are sure to make you feel more interesting even if you don't read that much. Getting creative like this is the first step to having more fun at home and in your life. So get started being creative and get done being boring!

Most Expensive Dress Shirt

See this shirt? It is Egyptian cotton with gold and diamond buttons. This is the most expensive shirt in the world, coming in at $40,000. So I wonder what swinging dick would actually spend 40k on this Eton Diamond shirt? Is that worth it, what about all the charities you could donate that money too and save lives? This is the kind of shirt that PETA should be dumping red paint on...
