Trend Alert: Ruffles have ridges!

It seems that the latest trend is to where these highly voluminous top that has all kinds of ruffles and then to wear some low key bottoms. I think the idea is to draw an onlooker attention up the ruffles of the shirt an directly into the eyes of the wearer. That is why you see people with amazing eyes, like Rihanna able to pull a shirt like this off. I think that a person like Julia Roberts who is more about the lips wouldn't do so well in this top. I also think this top is great for bring volume to the chest area (even if you don't have any natural volume) and therefore making your waist and legs look thinner. So just for that fact alone I am all for it, go ruffles!

JC Penny Viral Video

This video has been floating around the internet that is a faux commercial for JC penny. Basically two young people are putting on clothes quickly to time themselves in case they need to get dressed in a rush after committing an act most parents don’t want to catch their teenagers doing (but can’t seem to stop them). JC penny is all over the internet saying this is crude and doesn’t represent their brand. Well I say it is just fun and speaks to what’s on everyone’s mind anyway. I mean we are all thinking about sex, why not have some fun with it? Anyway, I am not offended by the ad and I doubt that many other people are too, it’s just some crazies from North Carolina and then maybe some guy that lives in Mexico cause no one in the US could stand his crazy anti-fun rants. I have posted the video so you can see for yourself, it’s just some harmless fun. Now I am going to go time myself changing in case I get a boyfriend tonight...

So I took this little quiz on InStyle and apparently my style tastes are closely matched to those of Natalie Portman - Swanky! I match because I like being in fashion but still dress in what is comfortable. That means taking a nice dress and instead of accessorizing with pumps, Natalie and I would wear colorful and fun sandals! So there you have it, I am the natural fun girl!



Now if I could only make as much money as she did...

So I found this company called onnotextiles.com that makes bamboo t-shirts. I think that is awesome and I love the trend that companies are doing towards fashion that is from alternative sources. I really like this because I want fashion to be as eco-friendly, renewable and un-damaging to the planet as I want my house to be, my car to be, etc. That is to say I want everything in my life to be in harmony with the world instead of stealing from it. Anyways, I think this is pretty interesting and I am glad that there are a few companies that are starting to do this.

Anne Hathaway – Class and Grace

Ever since she came onto the fashion/acting scene with “Princess Diaries” This girl has been working it! I have to give major credit to Anne, she always is dressed well and just has the charm and class of a queen when attending big events. Below she is pictured Kaufman Franco and I doubt that there was anyone else dressed in the world that looked as stunning as she did in that dress. Also, when she gives interviews she is so nice, and honest, I bet she is one of those down-to-reality celebrities you could actually hang out with. Alright, enough of my girl-on-girl crush of Anne, back to Earth for me!

Shoe Shopping - Who to choose?

So I think there are a few main choices when shoe shopping, like Zappos, Piperlime, and Bluefly so who to choose? I personally like Zappos. They have free shipping both ways and they have a huge selection of shoes. The only real issue I have with them is the lack of promotions. I mean I signed up to their email list and I haven't gotten and good discounts, just a bunch of junk mail about shoes that I don't even want. Once I even got a men's shoes advertisement, so that wasn't cool. However, Bluefly does have the hottest shoes which makes a difference for them...

Molly Sims' Dress Sparkles!

This new dress from Alberta Ferretti is to die for! It has all the right shapes and curves, coming in nicely at the waist and tapering beautifully at the end, and it has colors that scream vibrancy but don't over do it. I MUST HAVE IT!>!+! I just love the subtle use of *almost* neon colors that lap like waves all over giving the dress a shimmering, almost water like appearance. Well done Ferretti and nicely worn Sims, you make a good duo.

Fashion Business Cards

So I am a firm believer that everything you do in life should reflect your sense of self. That means for your fashion, your car, your home, and even how and where you work. If you don't act like yourself then you won't be happy and ultimately you will make other people (like me) unhappy with your grumpiness. That said, I think that people like me, need a business card like the one below. This card reflects totally my sense of style and personality while still being professional. This way I can be myself and not have to conform to the old standard of white cards with black lettering. This is a new world, and I am here to change it with a better sense of style in everything I do. Ohh I like that, it's like my new creed! I think I will get that put on the business card.

Blue Rimmed Eyes - Yuck

So I remember when Helen Hunt first tried to make this style popular at the Academy Awards like 6 years ago and only accomplished looking like a prostitute. Well, some time has passed and there is no difference, because Michelle isn't looking too good with the blue rimmed eyes. Weddings have always seemed to be the fashion high point of any woman's life and usually also the pocket book low point. That is why this article on Time caught my eyes it is about doing weddings for cheap, but not about sacrificing any of the charm, beauty or style. I really like this trend, by being more creative with wedding planning and ideas I'm able to come up with more fun solutions (I know I am not planning a wedding for myself now, but you know I still have all the details in my head....all i need is the man!). One example is getting a dress that is not the traditional wedding dress and therefore more inline with popular fashion, or getting a variety of flowers, not just roses. WOW! I love this dress! This is the dress that EMMANUELLE CHRIQUI wore to the Zohan premiere. It's an Amanda Wakely dress that reminds me of the time of the Greek Goddesses, Trojan warriors and of course women that were bold, beautiful and wore clothes that flattered but didn't show too much. That is all this dress says to me. I love the subtle coloring and then the change-up with the upper part around the chest, just a touch of difference that turns it into an elegant beautiful dress.
