Green is the new red
I think that on top of trying to save money with a valentine's day gift I also want to make sure that it is something that is loving for the planet as well as my family and friends. I was thinking that I could get carbon-offsets for everyone, but that seemed cold and boring. But what I think would be just as good as that is getting everyone little houseplants that would offset their carbon and be a cute reminder of the love I have for them. I think this is a gift that gives back and has a lot of love in it!

Wedding Stamps
A new trend in weddings is the idea of personalizing EVERYTHING! So not just a save the date card, but now there are save the date magnets and even save the date stamps. Check out the stamp below. You can add your names and wedding date to it and then use it to send out your save the date invites. It's a real US stamp that you can use to send your wedding invites. I know plenty of brides to-be that would love something like this for at least the added benefit of showing off to their other soon-to-be-married friends about something they've got that the others don't :) I know I'll be using these when I have a wedding...

Michelle Rocks!

I know that it is already old news, but I haven't had time to get to my computer and write about it so sue me! I LOVED what Michelle worn to Barack's inauguration ceremony two days ago. It had class written all over it with just a small flair of high fashion to let the world know she would be more like Jackie O than should would be like Barbara Bush. I think this is great that we can finally have some really great dresses that have a little life in them back in the White House. I was starting to think that the women of powerful men had lost all fashion sense. Now if we could just get Mrs. Biden to have a little flair the White House would be a runway! LOL!

CoolSpotters is a Cool Idea
I recently found this site coolspotters.com when I was looking around for information on a J Lo handbag and low and behold I was a the site that has information on all the cool stuff that is coming out these days. I like this site because now I don't need to search around for the celebrity dish and fashions that I want to emulate :) The one thing I wish they had was an archive of celebrity stuff from before the site was around. Like I really want that dress that Clair Danes wore in Romeo and Juliet but I can't find it anywhere!

Party Rings
Big rings are back in style and a great little accessory to that cocktail dress you're going to be wearing out tonight. I recommend something big and nice, but not something that is going to overpower your dress. I really like this trend because I was tired of the bracelet trend that was overtaking everyone. Back to the rings!

Trend Watch: Watch Wrap

OK, so this is an interesting one that I was reading about in my latest copy of InStyle. Watch Wraps! To me they sound like a chic combination of slap bracelet and ladies watch, but to others they are a must-have accessory. I think that instead of these bad boys we should see more accessorizing around the cellphone. Every celeb and fashonista under the age of 40 knows that the watch is going the way of the dodo and that the cellphone is the new way to keep time. With that in mind we should move from making the watch a fashion statement and making cellphones more of a statement. I am tired of the consumer electronics industry deciding how beautiful and colorful our cellphones are, I think they are in much need of an updating.
